Why this matters
Readers should always be able to tell why something appears in the publication. This page explains the kinds of content we publish and how commercial relationships are disclosed.
Editorial
Content selected and produced according to our editorial processes. No one pays for its inclusion.
Partner or collaborative
Content produced with participation or collaboration from a person, company or institution. The nature of the collaboration is stated on the content.
Sponsored or commercial content
Content produced or distributed as part of a paid commercial arrangement. It is clearly labelled as sponsored or commercial.
Advertising
Paid promotional placements, identified as advertising.
Book and idea promotion
Promotional or commercial placement of books, intellectual products or related services, including works we publish or offer for sale, is identified where a commercial interest exists.
Our commitment
Commercial relationships do not automatically determine editorial conclusions, factual claims or independent editorial judgment.
Where content is sponsored or commercially produced, the disclosure appears visibly on that content. We do not describe paid inclusion as "editorially selected", or imply independent selection where payment is the reason material appears.
Questions or concerns
Partnership enquiries can be made through our contact page. Concerns about disclosure can be raised through the grievance page under "Sponsored Content Concern".
