Corrections Policy
Accuracy matters to Vauban Valios. We aim to publish information that is accurate, appropriately sourced and presented in context. When a material factual error is identified, we review the matter and may correct or update the relevant content.

What counts as a correction
A correction addresses a material factual error: something we published that was wrong and that matters to a reader's understanding.
Correction or disagreement
A difference of opinion, a preference for different emphasis or disagreement with an analysis is not in itself a factual error. We consider such views carefully but may not change the content.
Factual errors
Examples include incorrect names, titles, dates, figures, places, affiliations or descriptions of events.
Names, dates and numbers
Small but clear errors of this kind are usually corrected promptly once confirmed.
Material omissions
Where leaving out a fact made a story misleading, we may add context or clarification.
Updates and corrections
An update adds new information after publication. A correction fixes something that was wrong. We aim to label them differently where the change is significant.
Raising a concern
Please use our grievance page and choose "Factual Error".
What to include
Tell us the page address, the exact passage you believe is wrong, why it is wrong, and any evidence or sources that support the correct information. Tell us too if you are the subject of the story or act for them.
How we review
An editor reviews the request against the published material and available evidence, and may contact you or other sources. We aim to respond within a reasonable time. Not every request will be accepted.
Correction notices
Where a correction changes the meaning of a story, we may add a note to the article explaining what changed. Minor typographical fixes may be made without a note.
Archived articles
Older articles remain part of the record. We may add clarifications or notes to archived content, but objection to an article does not by itself lead to its removal.
