Editorial purpose
VAUBAN VALIOS publishes journalism, profiles, interviews, analysis, features, essays and other editorial material about the people, ideas and institutions shaping what comes next.
Sources
Our reporting may draw on public records, official documents, company statements, regulatory filings, public speeches and statements, interviews, direct submissions, independently conducted research, licensed material and other lawful and attributable sources.
Accuracy and verification
We aim to verify material facts, identify sources where appropriate and distinguish reporting from commentary and opinion. Where something cannot be verified, we say so or leave it out.
Facts, commentary and opinion
Factual reporting, analysis, commentary and opinion may appear in different forms. We aim to make clear which is which, and not to present opinion as established fact.
Public figures and public interest
We may report on public figures, executives, founders, institutions and organisations when there is a legitimate editorial or public-interest reason. Being well known does not remove a person's right to privacy. Private or sensitive matters, including health, family and personal relationships, are handled with appropriate caution and editorial judgment.
Photographs and visual material
We seek to use owned, licensed, commissioned, authorised or otherwise lawfully usable visual material, and to credit it. The fact that an image is publicly available does not by itself mean it may be reused. Illustrative images are labelled where they could be mistaken for documentary evidence.
Attribution
Quotations, data, sources and third-party material should be attributed where appropriate. We do not invent quotations.
Input from subjects and contributors
A person or organisation may provide information, clarification, photographs or interview material. Submission or participation does not automatically mean that everything supplied will be published.
Editorial independence
Taking part in an interview or feature does not give the subject control over the final article. We may share factual points for checking, but editorial decisions rest with the publication.
Corrections
We correct material errors. See our Corrections Policy.
Commercial content
Paid and partner content is disclosed. See Advertising & Partnership Disclosure.
Content concerns
Concerns about accuracy, privacy, copyright or attribution can be raised through our grievance page.
Legal review
Stories that present significant legal, privacy, copyright or reputational risk may be escalated for additional editorial or legal review before or after publication.
