Jacinda Ardern

Jacinda Ardern served as prime minister of New Zealand from 2017 to 2023. Her tenure included the response to the Christchurch mosque attacks and the COVID-19 pandemic, periods that placed public communication and decision-making under intense scrutiny.

Her public career is often discussed in relation to empathy and political leadership. Those discussions also raise practical questions: how leaders make difficult choices, maintain public trust and remain accountable when events move faster than institutions can comfortably respond.
