Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
Director-General · World Health Organization
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is Director-General of the World Health Organization. An Ethiopian public-health leader, he previously served as his country’s minister of health and minister of foreign affairs.
At the WHO, his work concerns international health coordination, from preparedness for outbreaks to access to care. The role requires cooperation across governments and health systems with very different resources. It also makes questions of evidence, equity and institutional trust central to public-health decisions.
